WHO National Professional Officer (Mr Omotayo Hamzat) and WHO consultant (Mr Saka Tona and Dayo Jolaosho) visited the Centre on 12th and 13th August for the Laboratory prequalification exercise. This is a follow-up visit to design a strategic plan for the WHO prequalification process after the assessment carried out on 2nd May 2016 by the WHO consultant. The team thoroughly reviewed the gaps observed in the laboratory and designed the next line of actions on the prequalification process. It was discovered that there was no WHO pre-qualified quality control laboratory in West Africa; not even in NAFDAC. They however, opined that with the commitment seen from the Centre, this will be achievable soonest.
